Internal Projects:

If you want to stay optimized and efficient, you need to always keep refining your internal processes.

At Mobiquity, our Experience Management Team always has a set of ongoing internal projects that are designed to constantly evolve how our team learns, works, and has some fun along the way.

New employee onboarding.

Not to get into excuses, but historically, we’ve been awful about onboarding our new employees. So there’s lot of room to grow, right? Absolutely. I’m currently working with Anna Budny to formalize and standardize our process for all of our offices. We’re busy assigning POCs, collecting collateral, crafting email templates, adding strategies for job shadows, and basically laying out our noob’s first 30 days.

Peer reviews.

Here’s a new one I started awhile ago. I say “started” because it isn’t formally something we do just yet. We certainly do review things in small groups…just not formally, and frankly, not often enough. My current plan is to identify SMEs for certain review areas and then employ a rolling list of reviewers. Any time a peer review session is needed, we would quickly be able to identify attendees and schedule the meeting.

UX bootcamp.

Like any great Experience team, we take a great amount of pride in our deliverables — strictly adhering to our processes, iterating as much as possible, and having a serious focus on craftsmanship and polish. Making sure everyone is on the same page here requires a quick bootcamp. I created, alter, and refine a deck/meeting for all our newly-minted UXers. We cover a good amount of lessons-learned, best practices, and tool usage within an hour or so.

Training and more.

I’ve already covered this, but training is a big focus. For the past several years, I have been coordinating the training for our Experience team — everything from course/vendor identification to financial approval to daily class schedules to fun social events. Speaking of social events: our teams have excellent culture. This doesn’t happen by accident. It’s something I am passionate about and try to cultivate as much as possible. We can’t forget tools. Today more than ever, every tool we use is evolving to meet the changing needs of the industry. I work closely with Scott Jaspan to make sure our team is armed with all the right tools for the right activities.
